Come Out and Play Like a Big Kid

Jul 13, 2013 04:07AM

The Third Annual Adult Play Date is an adult field day, designed to incorporate fun with exercise while creating awareness for adult obesity.

During our childhood some of our fondest memories took place on the black top or in our backyards playing games such as kick ball and freeze tag. And who could forget your school’s field day, where everyone had a chance to get out of the classroom for the day. Unfortunately as adults, our favorite pastimes were replaced by Stair Masters, Ab Busters and a nine-to-five.

This event provides a solution to the misplaced fun in our adult lives by giving them a chance to get up, move and socialize. In teams of four, individuals will compete against one another in a crazy obstacle course, wacky relay races, a tug-o-war and more.  All while raising funds for the H.O.P.E. Scholarship Award, a non-profit organization designed to empower students facing financial hardships with college scholarships.

Immediately after the games, there will be an after- party and award ceremony to enjoy with all your new and old friends. Awards will go to the top three winning teams, the best team costume and to the top donator. The party will include free food, live DJ, games, raffle prizes and so much more.

Sign up as a single, duo, trio or a completed team of four to join the Third Annual Adult Play Date on August 10 at American University. The games kick off at 12 p.m., and check in begins at 11:30 a.m.
