Why Massage Therapy is One of the Fastest Growing Professions

Oct 27, 2016 09:21AM
Massage therapy, as a profession, is growing three times faster than the national average, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In part, this is due to the peer-reviewed journals and healthcare professionals that are discovering the amazing medical benefits of therapeutic massage. Potomac Massage Training Institute (PMTI), noted as one of the top schools in the country, is now accepting applicants for their professional training program, starting February. They are holding information sessions from 6:30 to 9:3p p.m. on November 16 and December 14 for those interested in learning more.

Whether it’s increasing mobility and quality of life in clients with arthritis, or relaxation and rejuvenation for clients with stress and anxiety, massage has been proven to help. Professional athletes and exercise enthusiasts are taking advantage of the improved recovery and performance.

Additionally, a growing trend in the greater D.C. area is for employers to bring in massage therapists regularly, because they realized that happy and healthy employees are more productive and enthusiastic. PMTI works with employers to provide licensed massage therapists for seated massages in the workplace.

To experience the amazing work that can be done by PMTI therapists (and students), their massage clinic offers the best low-cost massages, with rates for one-hour massages at $39 (from students) or $59 (from graduates).

Location: 8380 Colesville Rd., Ste 600, Silver Spring. For more information, call 202-686-7046 or visit PMTI.org
